Thank you, Simon, for confirming my decision to never audition for American Idol.
That being said, support local music! The people truly paving the musical landscape of this country are in your own hometown.

Hear, hear! There are so many things we can obtain and enjoy locally but often choose not to. Music, food, landmark sights...this from the girl who makes her way downtown about once every six months but loves to travel abroad. ;)
When it comes to music, people are content to sit and wait for "the-powers-that-be" to tell them what they should be listening to rather than going out to hear the band playing down the street.
Art, even genius, can happen anywhere.
